ICRC completes 240 detention visits in Ukraine and Russia

The International Committee of the Red Cross is the only neutral intermediary with access to prisoners of war on both sides of the conflict.
The ICRC confirmed it has now completed 240 visits to places of detention holding prisoners of war on both sides of the international armed conflict in Ukraine — a role no other organisation in the world performs.
Delegates verify treatment conditions, restore family links via Red Cross Messages, and facilitate the repatriation of remains under the Geneva Conventions.
